Lesson 4: Tertiary Colors
Tertiary Colors are the colors in between primary and secondary colors on the color wheel – yellow-green, red-orange, blue-purple. To make tertiary colors you mix equal parts of both primary and secondary colors.
Activities:
1. Tertiary Color Wheel: Print the color wheel and using primary, secondary colors, and red-violet, red-yellow, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, and blue-violet color the color wheel.
- On this color wheel the pie pieces that are taller than the others are where you color the tertiary colors. Start with red-violet in the center tall pie piece. Then work your way around with this pattern: red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, blue-green, blue, and blue-violet.
Supplies:
